During the domination, the French brought the hotel business into Vietnam by building the first hotel in Saigon – Continental Hotel, follow by Grand and Majestic Saigon. Eventhough, undergoing many ups and downs of history, these very first hotels still preserve their original beauty in an elegant harmonization with contemporary breath.

    Named after the hotel Continential in Paris, Hotel Continential Saigon is located on Dong Khoi Street in District 1, the central business district of the city. Situated near Saigonopera house, this hotel was build since 1878 by Pierre Cazeau, a home - Appliance and construction material manufacturer with the aim to provide French travellers a French style of luxury accomodation after a long cruise to the new continent. The hotel was completed in 1880 and refurbished in 1892 by Mr. Grosstephan. In 1911, Duke Montpensier bought the hotel and sold to Mathieu Francini – a reputed gangster in 1930. 
    With more than 130 years old, Continetial Saigon is the most popular hotel in Saigon, opening up a romantic classic French-style. As a 4 star hotel, The Continetial has 86 rooms that luxuriously decorated and well equiped with inroom classic design. Besides the cozy space of the present in combination with the beauty of the past, the hotel also has 2 restaurants, 2 bars and offers many services, making a convenient stop for tourist as well as businessmen working in Saigon

    Grand Hotel Saigon is a colonial-styled hotel built in 1930 and was completely restored in 1997. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of Saigon, overlooking historical streets and Saigon River. The Grand offers 226 rooms and suites, divided into 02 wings, in which the ancient wing offers a unique atmosphere inspring from Europen colonial architecture. Besides, the hotel has 450 seat ballroom & break-out rooms, recreation area, Sky Lounge, Western & Asian restaurants, Bar & Rooftop Grand Lounge. 


    3. Majestic Saigon

    Located at No 1 Dong Khoi street, the hotel Majestic is a historic hotel built for Chinese businessman in 1925 with the classic French style. Since the construction, the Majestic had witnessed many historic changes of Saigon, therefore, it is famous as a symbol of Saigon. 
    The hotel was first constructed with three stories and 44 bedrooms ; and was expanded in 1965 with two more stories bases. After 197, the hotel name was changed to mekong hotel and become a government guest house. It was recently renamed to the original name and become a 5 stars hotel overlooking the Saigon river.
